Maple is a precious mini Jindo mix girl who deserves nothing but love. She is fully grown, weighs only 26 pounds, and has a soft short-length coat. Maple was chained to a center divider on a highway and rescued by a staff drove by. Because of the trauma, she is extremely fearful when a vehicle passes by.
*Breed: Jindo mix, spayed
*Age: 1 year and 3 months (DOB: September 2021, estimated) Fully grown
*Weight: 26 pounds
*Coat: Soft & Short length
*Medical History: Fully vetted, up to date with all vaccines including Rabies and DHPPL, and received wellness exam on 10/13. She has severe underbite but a vet examined her and confirmed she is able to eat and drink with no issues and no surgery is required. No past illness or medical condition, and has a clean bill of health. Currently on heartworm, tick & flea prevention.
*House Training: She is house-trained and had only a few accidents. But she may have accidents when she goes to a new environment.
*Behavioral issue: Because of the trauma she had, she has developed separation anxiety. She chewed on items like shoes, cardboard boxes, and rugs when unattended. We would consider a family who stays home or works from home.
*Temperaments: Maple is very cuddly and sweet. She rarely barks and is quiet but when separated from her family, she may cry.
*Energy level: Moderate.
*Socialization: Maple likes other dogs but definitely wants full attention from you. She is fearful of meeting strangers and extremely cautious when walking outdoors and a car passes by. She is not reactive to other dogs or humans but will not go near strangers. At her current foster home, she loves playing with other dogs, both small and medium size. She has not been tested with children. Interaction with a cat is unknown.
*Rescue Story: She was chained to a center divider on a freeway and one of the rescue volunteers spotted her and rescued her. We do not know why and how she was left there but she is one of the sweetest girls we have rescued.
*Current Location: Maple is being fostered in Berthoud, CO. Please note we do not transport our dogs and the adopter will be expected to come to the foster location for a meet-and-greet and adoption. We will give priority to a family within 50 miles of Boulder.
*Ideal Home: Maple will thrive in a suburb or a quiet neighborhood without lots of traffic. Because of her fear of strangers and separation anxiety, a family who mostly stays home and can spend a lot of time with her give her stability and help her overcome her fear. She has gone through a lot and we are hoping to find someone with lots of love and patience. Maple can destroy things when left unattended so the home must be always dog-proofed. We are hoping to find a patient family who could help her journey on healing her broken heart and give her a safe, loving place to call home.
